The production line of CARBON dioxide foamed XPS extruded board has been successfully tested

By supercritical fluid viscosity is close to the gas, and diffusion capacity 100 times larger than the liquid, and has excellent dispersibility, diffusivity, solubility and phase interface etc., so the distribution more uniform and controllable particle size, which can make the product has better thermal stability, toughness and sound insulation performance, and lower coefficient of thermal conductivity and thermal conductivity. In the production process, due to the simple process, easy parameter adjustment and more accurate control, most of the supercritical fluid media used are inert, environmentally friendly, without inflammable and explosive risks, no waste discharge, and no residue in the product. Therefore, the supercritical fluid foaming technology has broad application scenarios.

Why DOES XPS extruded board foaming agent use Co2

In the traditional extruded board production, the foaming agent for flame retardant board is mainly used freon. However, as it is known to all that Freon destroys the ozone layer, it needs to be replaced by an environmentally friendly foaming agent. Currently, the internationally recognized alternative foaming agent is CO2+ ethanol. But simply from the perspective of production, many people will be misled by "CO2 will be cheaper to use"! Although CO2 is much cheaper than FREon, after all, in the production process of extruded sheet, the use of foaming agent only accounts for 12%, and most of the proportion is from Ps. However, the use of CO2 foam requires higher standards for raw materials, and the production cost is much higher than that of Freon. In addition, currently CO2 has not broken the limit of 6CM thickness as a foaming agent in the world.
